The Hammond Library at CTS does not have Online Catalog yet. Therefore, the library provides two ways of finding the books and other resources in the library.

  • Card Catalog: You can find Card Catalog in the reading room of the library. Cards are filed in alphabetic order. You can search by title or author.
  • WorldCat: You can find books and other materials in libraries worldwide.* The FirstSearch platform gives you access to WorldCat. You can limit your search only to the CTS's library. Remember that this does not show "Call Number"** which you have to verify through Card Catalog.
1) After log-in, click "WorldCat" on the top of the screen.

2) Limit to "the CTS Library" and to Book or Serial (= journals), or both.

You can use the Online Catalog of other libraries (e.g. University of Chicago, JKM library, etc).  The advantage of this method is that you can verify immediately anytime and anyplace the availablity of the books that you look for. You can find  online catalogs of ACTS libraries. See also

Subject Headings: this is a very useful tool when you know your research subject. Library materials are cataloged by subjects which are classified by  hierarchical structures (broader and narrower terms). If you want to know more about subject search, consult librarians.

1) Try Subject Index in WorldCat and 2) Search in Subject fields.

3)  Use subject links in the detailed record.
